We are open for walk-ins Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

No intakes are accepted after 5:00 p.m.

Who We Are

The Family Court Self-Help Center provides on-site assistance with family law matters in the District of Columbia to members of the public who do not have attorneys. The center helps unrepresented individuals with D.C. family law questions, or with cases in the Domestic Relations and Paternity and Child Support branches of the D.C. Family Court.

The Family Court Self-Help Center is a free walk-in service that provides unrepresented people with general legal information in a variety of family law matters (such as divorce, custody, visitation, child support).
