Who We Are

Quality Trust's legal department works on a broad range of systemic and individual matters that impact the lives of District residents with developmental disabilities. Quality Trust attorneys provide legal services to people with developmental disabilities and their families on a wide range of issues involving capacity, consent, alternatives to guardianship, and the right to self-determination; issues involving community integration; living life free from abuse and neglect; and issues involving services from the DC Developmental Disabilities Administration and Rehabilitation Services Administration. Quality Trust attorneys work on systemic issues involving capacity and decision-making; financial accountability for people with disabilities; and ensuring services are provided in the least restrictive setting possible. We advocate for legislative reform critical in the lives of people with developmental disabilities; we comment on policies affecting people with disabilities; and we participate in advisory committees and community based coalitions.
