Who We Are
WALA provides free legal assistance to individual artists or artist organizations. The services provided include review of negotiation contracts, incorporations, and legal advice on other related issues. It also conducts arts-related dispute resolution/mediation services. WALA defines "artists" and "arts" very broadly, to include writers, web designers, and other activities involving innovative design and creation.
WALA holds a legal clinic for creative artists, non-profit organizations, small inventors and entrepreneurs, scholars, traditional communities, and others who otherwise would not have access to high-quality intellectual property law and business development services. The clinic is held roughly twice a month, and registration is required. Please visit the WALA website for clinic dates and to register.
