Many Boards cannot do all their work during regular Board meetings, spurring them to create board and advisory committees to handle designated tasks. The DC Nonprofit Code and the IRS have rules which govern the work of these committees, including what duties committees can legally take on and how they must function. It is important that you know these rules to ensure that your committees operate legally and effectively. Join Jason Qu, Managing Attorney with the Nonprofit Legal Assistance Program at the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center, for a webinar on understanding the role of Board committees and how they operate.
