Who We Are

Maui Mediation Services (MMS), a non-profit organization incorporated in 1982, provides alternative dispute resolution and training services to the communities of Maui, Molokai and Lanai. MMS handles a wide variety of conflicts for families, neighborhoods, businesses and government agencies including: Auto Accident, Business, Civil Rights, Community, Condo/Homeowner's Association, Construction, Consumer/Merchant, Divorce/Domestic, Education/Special Education, Elder Mediation, Family, Friend, Job Related, Landlord/Tenant, Neighbor/Neighbor, Non-Profit, Prenuptial Agreement, Real Estate, Restorative Justice, Small Business, Temporary Restraining Order, and Youth issues.

Income Guidelines

No income requirements.
The Mediation fee is based on a sliding scale based on annual household income. For those with financial hardships, fees are either reduced or waived entirely. No one is turned away for lack of funds.

MMS does not mediate criminal cases or instances involving an active Temporary Restraining Order (TRO).

Description of Services

Mediation is a voluntary process that offers an effective, inexpensive way to resolve a dispute quickly. Mediators do not give advice or decide who is right or wrong. Mediators will facilitate the parties to negotiate their issues and help put the agreement in writing.
