What we do:
- Represent eligible clients in civil (not criminal) cases, such as:
- Employment: wages, housing, transportation
- Civil rights
- Immigration
- Outreach
- Visit workers in camps, clinics, and other areas convenient to the workers.
- Collaborate with other agencies serving farmworkers and victims of crime.
- Community Legal Education
- Provide information about legal rights and responsibilities .
- Visit workers in camps, clinics, and other areas convenient to the workers.
Rights of Farmworkers:
- To be paid the wages promised, but never less than the federal minimum wage.
- To receive written disclosures about wages and deductions.
- To receive written information about their wages and working conditions in a language they can understand.
- To be provided clean drinking water, toilet facilities, and handwashing stations at the job—and at no cost.
- To be free from pesticide hazard.
- To have decent and safe housing.
- To be free from discrimination because of race or national origin.
