Afterschool Snack Program
Children feel, behave, and learn better if they have a wholesome snack between lunch and supper. During the school year, the Afterschool Snack Program provides free nutritious snacks to children who spend their afternoons in organized programs of after school care. The snack helps attract children into supervised activities, and the activities give them learning experiences and a safe place to play.
Child and Adult Care Food Program
In South Carolina, the Child and Adult Care Food Program is a key source of support for improving the nutritional quality of meals and snacks served to children and adults in day care. The Child and Adult Care Food Program is a federally funded program that gives meal reimbursements to child care centers, adult day care centers and child care homes for serving nutritious meals.
South Carolina 2-1-1
Every hour of every day, someone in South Carolina needs essential services-from finding substance abuse assistance, getting the latest information in a crisis, to securing adequate care for a child or an aging parent. Faced with a huge number of public and private agencies, help lines, and phone numbers, people often don't know where to turn or how to get through ‘the maze’. In many cases, people end up going without these necessary and readily available services because they do not know where to start. SC 2-1-1 will provide South Carolinians with information about and referrals to services throughout the State for every day needs and in times of crisis.
